Klaus Bentin and Søren Rasmussen, owners of Château de Gué aux Biches, in partnership with the gallerist Henrik Dencker from Art Gallery Dencker+Schneider in Berlin, are organizing an artists' residence and contemporary art exhibition in September 2023 in Bagnoles de l’Orne, Normandy.
This exhibition will showcase artworks created on-site and other pieces coming directly from Denmark. Six Danish artists have been invited to work and exhibit at Château du Gué aux Biches from September 17th to 23rd, 2023. The exhibition will also be extended to the Animation and Congress Center (Salle du Roi Arthur) and the Tourist Office starting from Tuesday, September 19th.
B Art means “art in Bagnoles in week 38” is organized by the Dane Henrik Dencker, who has been running a gallery in Berlin for 10 years.
With theB Art event "The objective is to give the opportunity to local, national and European artists to discover their art." says Klaus Bentin, and Søren Rasmussen adds "We are happy to be associated with this event and to contribute to the cultural program of Bagnoles de l'Orne".
"We are delighted that the project is supported by the city of Bagnoles de l'Orne. And I am very happy that Bagnoles de l'Orne Tourisme is associated with this event with an extension of the exhibition to the entertainment and congresses and at the Tourist Office", he adds.
In the short term, the objective is to develop the concept in 2024 and to invite local artists to participate in a growing event.
The six artists who will settle in the Château du Gué aux Biches and who will exhibit in Bagnoles de l'Orne are professional artists whose artistic inspiration is expressed mainly on canvas, but also via ceramics and objects such as PigArt by Kathrine van Godt: varied and contemporary styles ranging from naturalist and impressionist expression to abstract art and pop art.
In addition to PigArt by Kathrine van Godt, you can also discover landscapes by Lone Mørkøre, and figurative portraits and abstract works by Michael Grønlund. As for Jette Dodensig and Rithva Landler, they both work with mixed media and paint, mixing different artistic forms. The organizer Henrik Dencker is also a pop artist and will also participate in the exhibition with his paintings which will complete the universe of Kathrine van Godt.
Acrylic on canvas Inspiration Lone Mørkøre is inspired by the fantastic landscape of the Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic, with their small colorful houses scattered in magnificent nature. The islands will break away from Denmark, float freely without today's overconsumption.
RITHVA LANDLER Mixed media and painting Inspiration Technique is chosen based on material and context, with love for the craft. The universe is dreamy, figurative, colorful and often sensual. A poetic approach to the being of life.
Sculpture Inspiration The modified pig figure is created by Kathrine van Godt with paint, recycled objects and reel fur. As a sculpture, the pigs bring out smiles and create joy, but behind the whimsy lie words, thoughts and reflection.
Paintings and Mixed Media Inspiration Jette Dodensig creates her works with a brush or trowel or, sometimes, with something else entirely. Layer upon layer with different techniques, fantasies take shape on the canvas with inspiration from nature, music or experiences.
Acrylic on canvas Inspiration In his art, Michael Grønlund, ranges widely and pays tribute to life and its many facets. The artistic style moves from figurative colored Cuban paintings to abstractions on large canvases.
Paintins and Silk Print Inspiration Henrik Dencker is a pop artist. He starts from well-known icons and interprets these with a twist. The starting point can be the comics universe, underground culture or simply the triviality of everyday life.
