I couldn't be more complimentary about our stay. Friendly, welcoming, helpful and made to feel at home. The room was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. The chateau itself is breath taking and is set in beautiful grounds. Excellent sleep in a peaceful setting, comfy bed/pillows with high quality bedding. The breakfast was very yummy. We have already booked to return in March. Can't recommend enough.
An absolutely enchanting property with exceptionally gracious hosts. The surrounding area resembles a park that you'd never want to depart from. The meticulously restored property evokes the feeling of being a member of a royal family residing in a secluded chateau. Additional bonus - a Micheline quality dinner recommendation nearby.
Everything was excellent. The chateau and grounds are remarkable. However our hosts Sorrin and Klaus were magnificent. We could not have asked for more kindness and warmth. It is a superb place to stay. The region has much to offer too.
So many great things! Soren and Klaus are wonderful hosts, going out of their way to make us comfortable and great conversationalists. The breakfast is absolutely amazing, and Bagnoles is a charming town a short bike ride away.

Super friendly and very professional hosts. Fabulous chateau which has been lovingly renovated and as a guest you have access to the various salons, library and terrace. The chateau is located in an enormous park with mature trees. A healthy Breakfast is served in the dining room. Spacious bedroom and with lots of luxurious touches such as bathrobes, fluffy thick towels and Molton Brown toiletries. Enjoyed every moment and will definitely visit again.
Great breakfast with local French cheeses - sublime! Lovely details in my room. Great, serene views onto the park around the castle. This was the best overnight stay I've ever had! Lovely, authentic hosts.
The Chateau is beautifully located on top of a hilly meadow, in a wonderful park that you can admire while driving up the lane - all the more so when you do this on a bike! ;-) The gorgeous interiors are carefully renovated in an authentic style. The Danish hosts are attentive to your every need, even beyond the usual! They also care for the interaction of their guests with each other (for example with a joint apéro moment, for those willing) or with the monument itself (we could benefit of a guided tour on the Chateau, its history and renovation). Breakfast is delicious, with a wealth of local products (including honey from the park's own beehives). Such excentric location is obviously a bit distant from the centre of Bagnoles, but a powerful electric bike of the Chateau will get you there easily, if you wish! Worthwhile to mention that the owners have also made substantial efforts to make the exploitation of the Chateau green and sustainable for the local environment.
We stayed for 3 days. After long flight and 2.5hr drive from Paris we were tired and welcome glass of red wine made us feel personal attention. The room is quite big and feels very authentic, all plaster work on ceiling and walls os outstanding, furniture is antique but sturdy, only bed, windows and shower (which is excellent) were new, the rest was carefully restored. Chateau is quite big, but living area is the second floor only, first floor has plenty of huge rooms (4?) where guests have delicious breakfast (cheese from local farms, their own honey, jams, home made baguets, etc). Everything is restored and renovated, but has nice antique furniture, original old paintings, big old mirrors. Chateau is located in quite large gated park with pond and has few other buildings. Klaus and Soren (hosts) have all the information about restaurants, events, attractions you might need and booked for us local restaurants. There are Michelin stars restaurants and others simpler, but food is great everywhere and price is reasonable. in Michelin resto (two 5 course menus and bottle of wine was 100 euros). Tonight you can see many stars due to very clean air and being away from big cities. On the last day Klaus gave us historical tour in the chateau. It appears that they have huge basement with restored hunting room, other rooms are in the renovation process, and also there is other part of the building used by servants long time ago - also in the renovation. After that we really appreciated amount of work and taste of ours hosts. Chateau was famous since XIX, Alexandre Dumas visited it few times. We love our stay and definitely come back.
Alt! Klaus og Søren var meget imødekommende, hjælpsomme og var med til at gøre vores ophold og ferie til noget helt særligt. Vi kan kun anbefale et ophold og vi kan selv skrive under på, at en enkelt overnatning ikke er nok. Hjemmefra havde vi kun booket enkelt overnatning, men vi blev hurtigt enige om, at blive 2 nætter yderligere. Aldrig har et sted, så langt hjemmefra, følt så hjemmeligt. Rammerne omkring slottet og værterne gør det til et skønt sted at opholde sig. Klaus og Søren var gode til at tage sig af os og sørge for anbefalinger til spisteder og udflugter. Vi kørte til Mont Saint Michel, gik en tur op i byen, spiste på gode restauranter, løb en tur i området, og ellers nød vi bare opholdet i haven med en bog. Morgenmaden var også rigtig god og selv under morgenmaden blev der taget rigtig godt af os. De bedste hilsner Rikke og Damian
Vi havde de skønneste dage på dette sted, hvor vi blev forkælet af de 2 værter. Vi kan varmt anbefale dette sted, der er så smukt.
Jeg har aldrig før oplevet så fantastisk et sted som dette. Udover stedets skønhed og enestående beliggenhed, var værtsparrets måde at være på helt unik. Man føler sig som en del af familien, og jeg vil helt klart anbefale at man bor på stedet flere dage. Således at man virkelig når at opleve stedets fulde potentiale.
Smukt og eventyrligt slot - et ophold i eksklusive og luksuriøse rammer. Søren og Klaus er det perfekte værtspar som ikke alene har skabt et smukt og eventyrligt slot men også skaber en hyggelig og afslappende atmosfære.
Beautiful French chateau that has been lovingly and thoughtfully restored by the present owners. We can only imagine it getting better and better as Klaus and his partner continue to develop this wonderful building. We’ll be back!

Chateau du Gue aux Bisches is a magical place and it is hard to overstate the beauty of the property, the rooms and the grounds. Soren and Klaus were the best hosts we have ever come across and they couldn't do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay to the utmost. If I could score everything 11/10 then I would!

Everything about the Chateau and our stay was exceptional. Being asked whether we'd like a reservation for dinner in a nearby restaurant, the delicious breakfast, and the beautiful and comfortable room. Klaus and Soren also very kindly and generously took the time in their busy day to tell us the fascinating history of the chateau and gave us a tour, and explained how it all came together for them. It is obvious how much time and hard work and love and pride was put into restoring, renovating and furnishing and decorating the chateau. It is truly impeccable. We can honestly say that staying here was the highlight of our 2 week tour of Brittany and Normandy. We truly appreciated our stay. Much respect and all the very best to Klaus and Soren.

Si vous avez du temps, laissez les propriétaires vous faire une visite, vous passerez devant quelques œuvres d'art et en apprendrez sur les secrets du lieu. Er målet Frankrig? Så kunne det meget vel være det sydlige Normandiet - nærmere bestemt Bagnoles-de-l’Orne. Lidt uden for byen finder man det danskejet Chateau du Gue Aux Biches. Et ubeskriveligt sted, hvor Søren og Klaus byder jer velkommen og deres gæstfrihed er uden lige. Her finder man alt, hvad man kan drømme om. Stedet oser af fransk slotsstil. Fantastisk indrettet med super lækre værelser, der alle har eget bad og toilet. Efter en god nats søvn serveres det store og lækre morgenbord. Når man har betragtet slottet indvendig, set alle de hyggelig kroge, så er det tid for de skønne omgivelser, for området udenfor selve slottet er lige så ubeskrivelig. En gåtur, hvor man nyder de frie omgivelser og den rene luft, er en sand lise for sjælen. Efter nogle dage på dette skønne sted, kommer man hjem med fornyet energi. Og det gælder hele året - ingen tid på året er bedre, end nogen anden. Selv har jeg prøvet februar, maj, juni og december. Den lille by et par km fra slottet byder på alt, hvad hjertet kan begære - og selvfølgelig er det danske flag til tops i byen. Mine varmeste anbefalinger - et ophold, som man gerne gentager.

Klaus and Soren are the perfect hosts!! We loved everything about it!! From the stunning location, beautifully and sympathetically renovated Chateau, friendly and inspiring chats with the hosts, lovely breakfast using local products, comfortable and warm room beautifully decorated, fabulous grounds to walk in. I could go on, but sample it for yourself, you won't regret it!!

Quelle belle surprise ! Le château a été particulièrement bien restauré en gardant son authenticité. Tout est magnifique et bien choisi les meubles, les lustres, les tapis, les tissus ... Klaus raconte avec passion l histoire de ce château. Klaus et Søren sont si accueillants et chaleureux, que nous pourrions avoir le sentiment d être, presque chez nous. Ne passez pas à côté de cette merveille !

Excellente découverte : un magnifique château avec seulement 5 chambres ! On est tellement bien accueilli qu’on a l’impression d’être comme à la maison ! Pour l’hiver, une superbe décoration de Noël avec un gigantesque sapin de Noël dans l’un des salons. Chambres spacieuses et rénovées avec goût tout en préservant l’histoire du lieu. Les propriétaires sont aux petits soins et s’adaptent aux demandes des clients. Lieu très calme et intime. Hâte d’y retourner.
Le château est superbe et restauré tout en conservant l’authenticité du lieu. La chambre que nous avions était confortable, propre et très élégante. L’accueil qui nous a été réservé était de grande qualité et le petit déjeuner copieux et bon. Les activités autour sont variées : station thermale, cidrerie, golf, restaurants.
Nous avons passé un magnifique week-end au Gué aux biches grâce à nos hôtes au petit soin. Nous étions invités à un mariage et connaissions les anciens propriétaires du lieu. Nous avons été enchantés de découvrir l’incroyable rénovation effectuée par nos hôtes, aux détails près. La literie est de très bonne qualité, le ménage est impeccable, digne d’un hôtel 5 étoiles et le petit déjeuner parfait avec un choix de qualité. Rien à redire à part que nous reviendrons sans hésiter avec notre bébé (6 mois) qui a été divinement bien gardés le samedi soir par nos hôtes et s’est visiblement très bien accommodé à la vie de château, merci encore. Quel plaisir de séjourner en ce lieu si magnifiquement décoré avec goût . Les propriétaires Sören & Klaus ont sû garder l’âme de cette maison chargée d’histoire et en même temps rénover avec une touche de modernité. Les petits déjeuners sont exquis et leur accueil toujours très chaleureux. Un lieu exceptionnel !
Superbe séjour au Château du Gué au biches ! Le temps s'arrête dans ce bel édifice délicatement rénové posé au sein d'un grand parc. Accueil chaleureux et attentioné de la part de Soren et Klaus. Nous avions choisi la chambre Alexandre Dumas, très agréable avec une vue sur le parc et le couché de soleil ! Nous recommandons !
Une belle découverte que ce gîte superbement tenu par Klaus et Soren ! La rénovation de ce beau manoir a été réalisée avec goût et amour. Leur accueil nous a fait nous sentir comme chez nous. Les chambres étaient très confortables. Je recommande vivement et sans réserve !

Le parc est magnifique, le château est décoré avec beaucoup de goût et de finesse, les propriétaires sont chaleureux, disponibles et tres acceuillants. La magie de ce lieu nous a transportés dans une autre époque.
This chateau is a hidden treasure in a forested landscape in the heart of Normandy. The two nice Danes who live there made it into a splendid example of how to preserve culture and style it to the demand of comfort of today. Every room is perfectly decorated and connect you to the history and the famous French writers who once were there to feel the same rest and peace as we did today. And don't forget to notice the Danish details in your room that bridge the Belle Epoque of nearby Bagnoles 'd Orne and the Royal Copenhagen porcelain!
